After the match against Guinea and Uganda, and the conclusion of the Algeria national team’s training camp, here’s a lunar outing on the assistant coach of the Fennecs!
Following the defeat against Guinea, Kamel Mouassa stepped in to support Nabil Neghiz, the assistant to the head coach of the Algerian national team, who had faced criticism from some quarters. Mouassa highlighted Neghiz’s tactical intelligence while shifting the responsibility for negative results onto the head coach, Vladimir Petrovic.
In statements to the press, Mouassa stated, “If the national team had won the match against Guinea, nobody would have credited Nabil Neghiz, but everyone would have praised the head coach.”
He then emphasized Neghiz’s role as a prominent member of the coaching staff, underlining his dedication to Algeria and his expertise in football.
In the same context, he continued, “He has previously worked with the national team, and I believe he is the target of unjustified jealousy because his name is Nabil, in addition to being a local coach. Honestly, there are parties who are jealous of him.”
He went on to say, “I think the primary responsibility lies with the head coach; he is the one accountable for everything, big or small, concerning the national team’s results. As for Neghiz, as a member of the coaching staff, he may bear some responsibility or contribute to negative results, but we cannot solely attribute all responsibility to him without considering others.”
