Tunisian club Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST) is making headlines following an unexpected demand from Youssef Belaili.

According to “Al Nahar Online,” which is close to the EST administration, the Algerian player has insisted that his brother, Fares Belaïli, join the club before he officially signs with the team. Initially, this request was denied by the administration led by Hamdi Meddeb, but after some deliberation, it was eventually accepted.

The EST administration then proposed an alternative solution: Fares Belaïli would join Club Sportif de Moknine, considered the reserve team for Espérance in Tunisia. Additionally, Hamdi Meddeb, the president of EST, committed to covering Fares Belaïli’s salary, which amounts to 3,000 euros per month, or roughly 70 million centimes in Algerian currency. This decision highlights EST’s determination to satisfy Youssef Belaïli and secure his commitment.

In return, a conditional promise was made: if Fares Belaïli performs well with Club Sportif de Moknine, he will officially join EST. This bold proposal illustrates EST’s strategy to attract and retain talent while maintaining a degree of flexibility.
