Al Jazeera News sports journalist Madjid Boutemine recently shed light on the rumors surrounding Djamel Belmadi. In a post on his Facebook page, Boutemine claims to have had an interview with the 2019 African champion.
According to him, Belmadi is still bound by a contract with the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) until December 2026. He specifies: “I am sure that Belmadi, who has not yet terminated his contract with the FAF nor initiated proceedings against the Algerian federation in any way (amicably, resignation, or FIFA decision), cannot take charge of a team in the middle of the season.
I also know that he has not accepted offers from Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and he has never considered working in Europe.”
