Youcef Belaili has raised concerns among MC Alger supporters due to an image captured during his team’s training session at MC Alger.
Belaili has been participating regularly in training, preparing for the Algerian Cup final scheduled for Friday, July 5th at the Stade du 5 Juillet against CR Belouizdad. However, despite some relief, there remains worry about his full availability for this crucial match.
Both the management and fans of MC Alger are counting on the former Esperance de Tunis star to lead the team to victory in the cup competition, marking a return after a six-year absence and aiming for a national double following Belaili’s pivotal role in MC Alger’s 2023-2024 Algerian Professional League championship win, their first in 14 years.
It’s worth noting that Belaili has appeared in MC Alger training sessions in preparation for the Algerian Cup final, having recovered from a shoulder injury sustained during the last match of the Algerian Professional League season against MC Oran (3-2) on June 14th. This injury kept him sidelined for a period before his recent return to prepare for the final.
Despite assurances from MC Alger’s medical staff regarding Belaili’s injury and their green light for his participation in the Algerian Cup final, doubts persist about his full fitness for the match. He has been dealing with severe discomfort recently, requiring intensive and rapid treatment to be ready for the final.
Belaili’s appearance in MC Alger’s training sessions with his left shoulder bandaged has sparked concern among club supporters about his readiness for the final, knowing that shoulder injuries are often complex and concerning, not easily resolved, which could affect the performance level of MC Alger’s key player in the final.
Belaili has previously dealt with similar injuries throughout his football career, experiencing this issue with Club Africain in Tunisia, Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, and the Algerian national team, confirming that this injury is chronic for the Algerian star, especially occurring at an inopportune time.
