Belaili: MCA Makes Drastic Decision Ahead of Final…

The club of Youcef Belaili, Mouloudia d’Alger (MCA), has made an unexpected and drastic decision ahead of the Algerian Cup final against CR Belouizdad, scheduled for next Friday.

Today, during the second technical meeting at the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) headquarters, MCA officially decided to forego wearing the new jersey proposed by Puma, their sportswear sponsor. This decision follows a wave of criticism and discontent expressed by the club’s supporters.

The new jersey, whose colors did not respect the club’s traditions, sparked a controversy among fans. Aware of the importance of maintaining a strong bond with their supporters, Mouloudia’s leaders decided to revert to a safe choice. Thus, they presented an alternative jersey, the traditional green, to calm spirits and show that they were listening to the concerns of their fan base.

This move can be seen as an admission of error on the part of the administration, implicitly acknowledging that they had misjudged the impact of introducing the new Puma jersey. The official announcement of the approval of the traditional green jersey was made during the new technical meeting, where all reservations raised during the first meeting, held last Wednesday, were addressed.

This last-minute decision demonstrates MCA’s commitment to staying true to its history and supporters, while aiming to ensure a positive atmosphere ahead of the eagerly anticipated final.
