After being absent from the last two national team camps, Vladimir Petković has definitively decided on Belaili’s future…
National team coach Vladimir Petković has made a radical decision by permanently closing the door on Youcef Belaili’s return to the national team. This decision follows a series of behaviors deemed unacceptable by Petković, particularly during the recent Republic Cup final.
Beyond his insufficient level of play, Belaili stood out for aggressive behavior on the field. The MCA player displayed marked hostility towards opposing players as well as his own teammates. His bellicose conduct extended beyond player exchanges; he also repeatedly argued with match officials, compromising the team’s sportsmanship.
This potential permanent exclusion marks a turning point in Belaili’s international career, who must now focus on his club performances and, importantly, his behavior, to hope to one day regain the trust of his coach and the public. Meanwhile, the national team will continue its journey without him, aiming to maintain exemplary cohesion and discipline under Petković’s leadership.
