A favorite for the 2025 Ballon d’Or has withdrawn. The list of players who could win the award has been subject to change as the season progresses, and Mohamed Salah has since lost his position as the main favorite for the Ballon d’Or.
The Egyptian was overtaken by Raphinha at the top of Score 90’s list of the best players of the season, following Liverpool’s elimination from the Champions League.
Raphinha, however, is not the only Barça player to feature on the list of potential winners of the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
In addition to the Brazilian, there is also the young Iberian star, Lamine Yamal, and his young teammate in the Spanish national team, Pedri.
The latter, ranked 4th by Score 90 on the latest list of favorites unveiled by Score 90, was recently asked about the possibility of winning the award for best player of the season.
A title to which the young Barça player seems to pay little attention, judging by his statements.
“I’d rather win the treble than the Ballon d’Or”
According to him, he would be much happier winning the treble (Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey) with Barça than the Ballon d’Or.
“Why not talk about the treble instead, since I’d rather win the treble than the Ballon d’Or?” he stated, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
At 22, Pedri has become an undisputed starter in Hansi-Flick’s squad, putting in a string of top-level performances.
His playing qualities have made him one of the best midfielders of recent years.
