This Monday, May 6, 2024, Jérôme Mosengo-Omba, the Secretary-General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), clarified matters with the Secretary-General of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

This clarification came through a correspondence titled “Request for Clarifications.” The Confederation of African Football issued instructions to FECAFOOT regarding the incident involving Njitap during the last African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

The continental football governing body responded to the incident where Geremi Njitap was a victim in the dressing room of the Indomitable Lions after the match against Gambia.

CAF requested FECAFOOT to provide all evidence related to this matter. Additionally, CAF instructed FECAFOOT to halt any proceedings or decision-making processes regarding the situation, reserving the exclusive right to take any necessary actions.
