Vincent Aboubakar, captain of the Cameroon national team, doesn’t appear ready to leave Besiktas just yet, at least not this summer.
Despite a challenging last season at Besiktas, marked by injuries and a brief exclusion from the squad, resulting in performances below his usual standards (12 goals, 3 assists in 34 matches), Vincent Aboubakar is determined not to give up.

The striker for the Indomitable Lions (102 caps, 39 goals) aims to finally establish himself at the Black and Whites after two previous stints that felt incomplete in 2016-2017 and 2020-2021.
Aboubakar turns down lucrative salary offers
According to Turkish transfer expert Ertan Süzgün, the 2017 African champion rejected a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia, firmly shutting the door on a return after spending two and a half years at Al-Nassr. The club had to release him in early 2023 to comply with foreign player limits following several new signings.
The source indicates that “Abouchouchou” simply turned down an annual salary of €3 million from an unnamed suitor. His goal is to stay and reclaim a starting position with the team that finished 6th in the last Süper Lig season. Recently back from vacation, the 32-year-old has resumed training and is expected to participate in pre-season with the Turkish side, barring any last-minute changes. His current contract expires next year, making this a significant gamble on his part.
