Samuel Eto’o, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), reportedly pushed Belgian coach Marc Brys to resign from his position as manager of the “Indomitable Lions,” according to certain sources.
However, sports journalist Gerard Elle denied these rumors after contacting the parties involved.
“Our profession becomes dangerous with fabricated information circulating. You wake up one morning and find the internet flooded with falsehoods. It would be absurd to believe that Marc Brys has resigned,” he clarified.
“I can assure you that Marc Brys and his staff are focused on preparing for the upcoming two matches of the Indomitable Lions in September,” Gerard Elle continued.
Marc Brys’ successful start with Cameroon
Despite several setbacks in his initial outings with the Indomitable Lions, the Belgian coach made an exceptional debut.
In his first match, he led the Cameroonian team to a resounding 4-1 victory against Cape Verde, followed by a valuable 1-1 draw in Angola.
