Freshly appointed at the helm of the “Indomitable Lions,” Belgian coach Marc Brys is already threatening to walk away. Still hampered by the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), the former Saint-Trond VV coach cannot carry out his duties as the national team coach.
This situation does not sit well with the Belgian coach, who is currently pushing to regularize his status as the coach of the five-time African champions. It’s a tough challenge for the Minister of Sports, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, to find a solution to this predicament, mainly due to the veto of Samuel Eto’o, who still refuses to endorse the appointment of the Belgian coach at the helm of the “Indomitable
Lions.”
Marc Brys has already reached agreements
While waiting for the regularization of his contractual situation, Marc Brys has already held discussions with several dual-nationality players in an effort to convince them to represent Cameroon.
The Belgian coach is considering making changes to the squad that will be selected for the upcoming international window compared to the one that participated in the last Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
As a reminder, Cameroon will face Cape Verde and Angola in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
