Cameroonian goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa is leaving Nîmes Olympique after spending a season in the French third division, National. Originally signed for two seasons, he ended up staying for just one with the Crocodiles.
The Cameroonian international, capped 50 times, departs from the bottom-placed National club, where he served as a substitute last season, making 5 appearances across all competitions.
It’s safe to say that the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations champion isn’t losing out on opportunities, as he looks set to join Rigas FS. The Latvian club, reigning champions and current leaders of Virslīga, are poised for 2024-25 Champions League preliminary rounds.
Despite earlier rumors linking him to a move to the top flight in France, Ondoa has finalized an agreement with the Riga-based club, as reported by specialized outlet AllezLesLions.

According to the same source, the official announcement is expected imminently. It’s a calculated transfer move for Ondoa, who bid farewell to Nîmes fans in a recent social media post, expressing gratitude for the club’s hospitality and the lessons learned during his tenure.
Returning to Latvia, where he previously played for FK Auda (2022-2023), Ondoa aims for more playing time and visibility. Despite starting in the recent Africa Cup of Nations, he missed out on Marc Brys’ initial squad in June.
