The president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Samuel Eto’o, has officially won the power struggle against Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education.
For the past few weeks, the two parties have been engaged in a direct conflict primarily concerning the composition of the technical staff of the “Indomitable Lions.”
The Minister of Sports has chosen the Belgian Marc Brys as the new coach and has appointed a new technical staff to lead the national team.
On the other hand, the head of FEACFOOT has officially announced the appointment of the Belgian technician, while making changes to the technical staff of the national team.
This cold war between Eto’o and Mouelle Kombi has soured the atmosphere within the “Den,” just days before the double confrontation against Angola and Cape Verde in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Biya sides with Eto’o
It took the intervention of the President of the Cameroonian Republic, Paul Biya, to bring this conflict to an end.

According to “Jeune Afrique” magazine, the Cameroonian head of state has agreed to Samuel Eto’o’s proposal to appoint a new technical staff instead of the one designated by the Minister of Sports.
A moral victory for the former Inter Milan player who has ultimately imposed his vision.
