A few months before the start of the 2025 AFCON, Cameroon could have new players in its squad.
Indeed, long courted by the Cameroonian selection, Hugo Ekitike could finally choose to answer the call of his country of origin.
But given his current performances with Frankfurt, it would not be so surprising if he is in Didier Deschamps’ good books.
Proof of his immense talent, Wesley Sneijder has just been effusive about the young 22-year-old player.
Indeed, in a statement widely relayed on the web, the former Dutch international sang the praises of Ekitike.
According to him, the Franco-Cameroonian is without a doubt, a pure “mix between Neymar and Mbappé”.
“I might say something really crazy, but I think he is a mix between Neymar and Mbappé. I sincerely believe it,” he said.
There is no shortage of offers for the former PSG player, who could very quickly bounce back in the Premier League.
According to the latest news, he would be tracked by Liverpool, but also by Arsenal, among others, in search of a real scorer.
If he were to join the den of the Indomitable Lions, he would probably be a great asset for Cameroon, during the next deadlines, including the 2025 CAN which is looming.
