Marc Brys has decided to bring Carlos Baleba back into the den of the Indomitable Lions. The Cameroon coach held a video conference with the talented Cameroonian midfielder, who has been putting in impressive performances since reclaiming his starting spot at Brighton.

Following Brighton’s heavy 0-4 home defeat to Manchester City on Thursday, the new Indomitable Lions coach, Marc Brys, had an important conversation with Carlos Baleba. Brys, along with his assistant Joachim Mununga, are pulling out all the stops to convince the promising Cameroonian midfielder.

Previously, Baleba had told Rigobert Song that he would take his time before joining the national team camp. However, with his newfound starting position at Brighton, Baleba can now seriously consider starting his international career. Despite being seen as the future of the Indomitable Lions, Baleba had stayed away from the national team setup, opting instead to focus on establishing himself at the club level.

A key component of Roberto De Zerbi’s tactical setup, the question now arises whether Carlos Baleba will succumb to Marc Brys’ charm. If the Belgian coach manages to enlist the former EFBC player, it would be a significant coup for the Indomitable Lions, who are in need of his midfield presence.

With considerable Premier League experience under his belt, Baleba could provide valuable support in Cameroon’s midfield alongside Zambo Anguissa, according to many analysts. Marc Brys aims to assemble a squad of quality players for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
