FC Barcelona is considering bolstering its offensive sector for the upcoming season, and rumors suggest interest in several attackers, including Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is set to leave Bayern Munich when his contract expires this summer. The Cameroonian player, one of the highest-paid members of the squad, earning up to €10 million gross per year depending on his playing time, has piqued the interest of FC Barcelona.
Transfer expert Ekrem Konur reveals that the Cameroonian center-forward from Bayern Munich is among the options considered by the Barcelona executives. However, Choupo-Moting is not the only striker on Barcelona’s radar. Anthony Martial, the French forward from Manchester United, is also on their list. Additionally, the Spanish club is eyeing Paulo Dybala, the 30-year-old Argentine international currently playing for AS Roma.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has had a poor season in terms of statistics, with only 3 goals in 32 total appearances. The former Stoke City and PSG player has options beyond Barcelona. Bayern’s number 13 has interests from Serie A, Saudi Arabia, and even the Premier League. With this transfer, Barcelona could reunite the striking duo from Bayern. The Cameroonian’s transfer isn’t aimed at rejuvenating the squad, especially with Robert Lewandowski, already aging at 35, leading the attack.
