Out of contract with Bayern Munich next summer, Cameroonian forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has sparked interest from Barcelona.
The Catalans are looking to recruit the player as a free agent when his contract with the German club expires this summer. Transfer expert Ekrem Konur reveals that Bayern Munich’s Cameroonian center-forward, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, is among the options being considered by Barcelona’s executives.
It’s worth noting that Barcelona isn’t the only club in the running for Choupo-Moting’s signature; teams from the English Premier League, Serie A, and Saudi Arabia are also interested in his services.
Choupo-Moting has been playing for Bayern Munich since October 2020, when he joined the German club as a free agent from Paris Saint-Germain. In the current season, he has scored 2 goals in 24 Bundesliga matches. Notably, the Cameroonian is not a regular starter in Tuchel’s team. The forward is often used as a rotational player, so it’s entirely possible he may express a desire to change clubs.
The departure of the Cameroonian from Munich is already considered almost certain. As a player without a contract from July onwards, he can be acquired at a relatively low price.
