Samuel Eto’o Fils has apparently taken note of Benjamin Banlock’s appointment as the general coordinator of the national teams by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education. The president of the Fecafoot has indeed appointed two deputies (No. 1 and No. 2) to the General Coordination of the National Teams this Thursday.
Samuel Eto’o Fils has appointed Mr. PENSY Serge Reinold as Deputy Coordinator No. 1 to the General Coordination of the National Teams: Mr. PENSY Serge Reinold.
In the same decision, it is mentioned that Mrs. ASHU NTUINKONGHO Sarah has been appointed as Deputy Coordinator No. 2 to the General Coordination of the National Teams. She replaces Mrs. ZEINABOU EVELE in this position.
The note also emphasizes that “the interested parties will be entitled to all kinds of benefits provided for by the regulations in force.”
These appointments of the deputies of the general coordinator of the national teams, Benjamin Banlock, seem to confirm that the president of the Cameroon Football Federation has taken note and duly acknowledged the minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi’s appointment decisions. However, several observers had mentioned the illegality of the appointment of the general coordinator of the national teams by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education. According to them, this competence belonged to the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot).
“The minister has exceeded his powers. The regulations authorize him, as the representative of the State in sports matters, to only contract the technical staff, the coaching staff. But there are elements that contribute to the functioning of the national team whose competence depends on the president of the Fecafoot, who contracts and pays them. For example, the coordinator of the national teams falls within the competence of the Federation,” explained the politician Valère Bessala on a television channel.
