Some Ivorians are hoping for Samuel Eto’o to come to Côte d’Ivoire due to the rise in electricity bills. On social media, they have expressed their desire for him to comment on this matter.

Indeed, for several weeks now, Ivorians have been denouncing the Ivorian Electricity Company (CIE) over electricity fees. But evidently, their struggle has not borne fruit.

In response, some have decided to reach out to Samuel Eto’o to come to Côte d’Ivoire and discuss with the director of CIE regarding the electricity bills.

“If Eto’o could come and scold the CEO of CIE for us for 5 minutes,” posted the Ivorian Facebook page Allez les Éléphants.

This statement prompted several internet users to react, saying, “Even in 3 minutes, maybe he can accomplish something. So, inquire about the possibility of renting him from FECAFOOT to come scold our CEO of CIE. Besides, he’s our handsome guy. He’ll do it at an affordable price.

If only he could be the president of Cameroon, ENEO, which is responsible for electricity distribution in Cameroon, would flee on its own.

I love this gentleman. Because he is straightforward in his words and does not want to be disrespected. This, no matter your so-called social status.” If these Ivorians are soliciting Samuel Eto’o so much, it’s because of an incident that occurred in Cameroon, in which he is involved. The events took place on May 28, 2024, at the headquarters of FECAFOOT.

While Marc Brys and his staff were supposed to attend a working meeting at FECAFOOT, the coach was accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Sports, including the Inspector General of the Ministry and the Minister’s advisor, Cyrille Tollo.

But to everyone’s surprise, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, gave firm instructions for the ministerial team not to set foot on the federation’s premises.

Thus, the senior officials from the Ministry of Sports, sent by the minister, were simply blocked at the gate.

This situation further complicates matters and reignites the power struggle between the Cameroonian Football Federation and the Ministry of Sports.
