The Eto’o family escorted the late David Eto’o to his final resting place. The day after his funeral, his grandson Etienne Eto’o Pineda shared a touching message for his grandfather.
A painful awakening!
“Good morning, grandfather, you are finally resting, grandfather. First of all, we want to apologize for all the time we took, grandfather.
We had some difficulties, and we wanted the day you could rest in peace to be worthy of the person you were, are, and will be.
Because only those who are forgotten die, and we will not forget you. We are finally all gathered here at the house where we lived so many things.
Even today, I remember your simplicity; you only needed a chair to sit on and remain very calm. A calm spirit of someone who did things well throughout his life.
Your children and grandchildren who admire and love you. We are grateful for everything you have done, and today, we come together to celebrate your departure.
Grandfather from above, protect us, show us the way to achieve each of our dreams, keep us away from evil, and above all, enjoy seeing us all honor our family name. Now, I want to thank especially my uncles, aunts, and also all those who helped us organize this event.
Last but not least!
Dad, you are the reflection of our grandfather; today we are all very proud of you, as an uncle, as a brother, as a friend, and as a father.
Now, you are the light that illuminates the path of our family. We have no doubt that you will do it as it should be, because everything you set out to do, you achieve it!
Because the one who does things with love or who puts everything in his hands so that things follow their course never goes wrong.
At 15, you left here, towards a new future. A future that you yourself created, which allowed us all to be reunited today, to have a wonderful family.
Looking back, we can say that we have succeeded, dad.
GRANDPA is proud of you; you are the pride of your parents, that’s a true trophy, and no one can take it away from you. We are eternally grateful and proud, Dad,” wrote Etienne Eto’o Pineda.
