For Franco-Algerian journalist Nabil Djellit, the situation surrounding Cameroonian football is a “diversion,” a “soap opera” that he follows while having popcorn at hand.

The suspension by the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the Cameroonian National Olympic and Sports Committee, suspending the effects of the decision of the Fecafoot appointing a new coaching staff for the Indomitable Lions, confirming Marc Brys as head coach, plunges Cameroonian football into further confusion.

“I thought we had reached some sort of soft consensus, some kind of compromise where everyone saved face,” laments Nabil Djellit. The Indomitable Lions are still in limbo, unsure with which coach they will actually compete in the upcoming qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
