Cameroonian international Frank Magri isn’t disheartened by his absence from the list of players called up by Belgian coach Marc Brys for the Lions Indomptables’ next two matches.

The player, who plies his trade at Toulouse Football Club (TFC), reflects on his meeting with Cameroon’s national team coach Marc Brys following a Ligue 1 match against Olympique de Marseille during his European tour.

“During the Marseille match, he came to see us, and I met him the next day, and we had our first exchange. Now, whether I’m surprised or not is not necessarily the question. I had prepared myself, and I had everything in place to be part of the selection, but that’s how it goes. It’s part of a footballer’s life. I’m not on this list, but I could be on the next one.

The goal is first to play and perform well at the club. Only then could I be selected,” said Frank Magri. The coach of the Cameroon national team, Marc Brys, released a list of players called up for the June matches counting towards the 2026 World Cup qualifications last week.

The Lions Indomptables of Cameroon will face Cape Verde and Angola on June 8th and 11th, respectively.
