As of Monday March 03, 2025, former Cameroon international Rigobert Song is officially the new coach of the Fauves de la Centrafrique.
The former coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon officially signed his contract as coach of the Central African national team with the Central African Ministry of Sport.
However, according to several media reports, Rigobert Song has drastically reduced the salary he is due to pocket for taking over the reins of the Central African national team.
Indeed, the former international will earn a monthly salary of 4.5 million FCFA on the Fauves bench, whereas his predecessor earned 6 million FCFA.
According to sports website Footboom, this salary is a far cry from what he earned at the helm of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
“To give an idea, during his tenure at the helm of the Cameroon national team, his salary was in the region of 340,000 euros a year, which corresponds to around 223 million CFA francs”, Footboom pointed out.
