From an internal source at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, the head coach of the Indomitable Lions will visit the headquarters of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot). He will go there to find out the reason for his summons.
Indeed, Marc Brys, the head coach of the Indomitable Lions, will head to the headquarters of the Cameroon Football Federation on Monday, May 13, 2024. This good news was announced by Cyrille Ntolo, a technical advisor at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education. The 62-year-old Belgian is going to learn the reasons for his summons by Fecafoot.
“Tomorrow (Monday, May 13, 2024), Coach Brys will be at Fecafoot to listen to why he is being summoned,” explained Cyrille Ntolo on Info TV. The technical advisor at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education assures that for now, there is no pressure and that the government, respecting the will of the head of state, will not backtrack.
“You want the president to go back on his word and decide between the government and a sports association? The Ministry of Sports supervises Fecafoot. What the Ministry of Sports is doing right now is simply implementing the instructions of the President of the Republic. There is no longer any debate. You want the president to retract his statement and mediate between the government and a sports association? Be aware that the Ministry can simply withdraw its approval of the federation. We are not there yet! If Cameroon is suspended on a technicality because of the president of the federation, he will assume all the consequences,” he continued.
This statement is a snub to Remy Ngono, who in one of his fantastical live streams claimed that Marc Brys was going to the Fecafoot headquarters “by force.” “After learning in my live stream on Saturday that Marc Brys was to receive a request for explanation and be replaced by Ntoungou Mpile if he did not comply with the summons from Fecafoot, Mouelle Kombi asked his Belgian protege to go. Thus, Cyrille Tollo rushed to appear on the Info TV set this Sunday, stating that Marc Brys will indeed go to the Fecafoot summons on Monday, May 13, 2024. Yet, Marc Brys boasted that he does not chase after people and would only speak to Samuel Eto’o, who should come to him,” said the commentator from the French channel RFI.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that in his last letter to Fecafoot, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, asked Samuel Eto’o to provide a working environment for the technical staff to facilitate their work. The Secretary General of Fecafoot, by inviting Marc Brys to a meeting on Monday, May 13, 2024, is complying with this ministerial recommendation.
