The name of coach Marc Brys has been removed from the FIFA website. Just a few hours ago, his name appeared as the coach of Cameroon.

The controversy surrounding Marc Brys, the new coach of the Cameroon Indomitable Lions, continues to escalate. Just a few hours ago, the successor to Rigobert Song’s name was on the FIFA website. Indeed, the name of the Belgian technician jumped on the official website of the world football governing body as the coach of the Indomitable Lions in just 24 hours.

Following an update by FIFA on their official website, where Marc Brys could actually be seen as the coach of the Indomitable Lions, curiously, his name jumped again in less than 24 hours. A revelation by journalist Boris Bertolt, however, sheds light on what might have happened.

According to the journalist, “on instruction from Samuel Eto’o, it is the Secretary General of FECAFOOT, Blaise DJOUNANG, who sent an email to FIFA to inform them that they did not recognize Marc Brys as the coach of the Indomitable Lions.”

Appointed a few weeks ago by Cameroonian Sports Minister Narcisse Moelle Kombi, the Belgian coach and his team were contested by Samuel Eto’o, president of FECAFOOT, who believes that the appointment of technical staff members of the Indomitable Lions falls within the purview of the Federation. Even though Marc Brys has already begun scouting some players, things may still turn sour for him.

It should be noted that this manipulation of information raises questions about the credibility of the FIFA website. This is especially true since, on the same site, the name of Lawrence Fotso, former Media and Communication Manager who left FECAFOOT in 2019, still appears in the same position.
