Since becoming president of the FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o has been criticized for his omnipresence in the Lions Indomptables’ den. Samuel Eto’o has always been known for his (highly debated) omnipresence with the Lions Indomptables.

After taking office as president of the FECAFOOT, the former Barcelona striker has often been reproached for wanting to do everything within the den. Arnaud Djoum, former Cameroonian international, explains this phenomenon on Footb’All-Time:

“In Cameroon, there are a lot of internal problems, and it’s not easy. As a former player with the career he has had and his knowledge of football, it’s difficult to be president and stay in your office without saying anything.

Considering his experience, you always want to be on the field, to listen, and maybe give your opinion. Generally, federation presidents are in offices, but for him, it’s stronger, and I understand it as a former high-level player. As a former very high-level player, it’s important that he gives his opinion.”
