Indomitable Lions: here’s what Fecafoot has to say about Marc Brys

Marc Brys has been suspended by the Cameroonian Football Federation. This Tuesday, the body led by Samuel Eto’o made changes to the coaching staff of the Indomitable Lions.

In the statement released by the Emergency Committee of FECAFOOT, held on the evening of Tuesday, May 28, the top football authority in Cameroon proceeded with the modification of the coaching staff of the Indomitable Lions. This decision follows heated exchanges that occurred on Tuesday morning at FECAFOOT between Samuel Eto’o and the Belgian coach.

Martin Ndtoungou Mpile, an experienced Cameroonian technician, has been appointed interim head coach of the Indomitable Lions. David Pagou and Narcisse Tinkeu have been respectively appointed interim assistant coach and interim fitness coach.

What Marc Brys is reproached for:

The statement listed the grievances against the now former coach of the team, Belgian Marc Brys. He is accused of:

  • Disrespectful remarks towards the President of FECAFOOT.
  • Manifest refusal to attend the first working session organized by the Secretary General on May 10, 2024.
  • Publishing the list of players and organizing a press conference in violation of FECAFOOT procedures.
  • Refusal to communicate his training program.
  • Taking isolated work initiatives and disclosing information about players to third parties and the media without prior agreement from FECAFOOT.
  • Failure to communicate the definitive list of players selected for the upcoming matches within the specified deadlines.
