Indomitable Lions: Is the MINSEP – FECAFOOT duel on the verge of a crisis resolution?

It appears that there may be a reshuffle in the staff of the Indomitable Lions to address the crisis between MINSEP and FECAFOOT.

The standoff between Samuel Eto’o and Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi over the appointment of the new coach Marc Brys could result in a partial reshuffling of the Lions Indomptables staff. According to reports from Radio Equinoxe, there seems to be a move towards reconciliation between the two parties. It is suggested that the Federation may concede on the appointment of Marc Brys and his foreign assistants, but in return, they would gain the Ministry of Sports’ approval to appoint the remaining staff members.

Since the meeting at the Prime Minister’s office between the ministry and FECAFOOT did not yield results, the Secretary General of the Republic is said to have intervened. Specifically, according to a source cited by Equinoxe Radio and Television, the official convened a meeting earlier this week. “The purpose of this meeting is to restore harmony and more serenity within the Lions’ den. Thus, a reshuffling of the technical staff, taking into account some of FECAFOOT’s concerns, is currently under consideration. New proposals will be presented to the President,” a well-informed source told Equinoxe Radio and Television.

Essentially, the official’s idea is to address the federation’s grievances by partially reshuffling the staff. While it seems likely that Brys will retain his position, assistant coach François Omam Biyick and selection coordinator Benjamin Banlock could be casualties of this compromise.
