The coach of the Indomitable Lions, Marc Brys, and the president of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o, are finally set to meet in Yaoundé. Brys has returned to Cameroon after his European tour.

The Belgian coach will now prepare for the matches against Cape Verde and Angola in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Since his appointment on April 2nd, Brys has been at the center of controversy between political authorities and the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), and he has yet to meet with President Samuel Eto’o. The meeting between the two men is scheduled for next week. A preparation meeting for the matches against Cape Verde and Angola is scheduled at the Ministry of Sports on May 7th.

FECAFOOT is invited to attend, and if Samuel Eto’o is present, he will meet with Marc Brys, whose appointment he still contests. However, the actual presence of FECAFOOT at this meeting has not yet been confirmed. Samuel Eto’o does not recognize this coaching staff. In fact, he appointed Serge Pensy as the number one assistant coordinator for the national teams on Thursday. This position was previously held by Hervé Mveng, who was appointed to Marc Brys’s staff on April 1st.

Currently, Rigobert Song’s successor is preparing for the matches against Cape Verde on June 3rd and Angola on June 10th, both of which are part of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
