The imbroglio surrounding the technical staff of the Cameroon national team, the Indomitable Lions, is far from over. This Sunday, as preparations were underway for the start of the Lions’ training camp, the feared clash occurred.
Both staffs, one appointed by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education (MINSEP) and the other appointed by Samuel Eto’o Fils, president of FECAFOOT, found themselves at the Hilton hotel simultaneously, where the Lions are supposed to be based under the guidance of coach Marc Brys.
According to the “Allez les Lions” page, the coordinator of the national teams, Benoît Angbwa, and other staff members appointed by FECAFOOT were denied access to the hotel rooms. Everything had been reserved by MINSEP.
However, François Omam Biyik and Alioum Boukar, appointed as assistant coach and goalkeeper coach respectively by MINSEP, were able to enter the Hilton hotel.
As for head coach Marc Brys, upon his arrival at the hotel, he was greeted by Benjamin Banlock, the general coordinator of the national teams appointed by MINSEP. Arrivals continued throughout the evening, notably including Karlos Kameni, appointed by Samuel Eto’o Fils.
Later in the evening, it was reported that Samuel Eto’o Fils had instructed the staff members he appointed to leave the Hilton hotel.
