Joël Matip (32 years old) is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season after 8 years at the club. The Cameroonian defender is not short of suitors.

Joël Matip is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. The Reds announced his imminent departure on Friday, two days before the final Premier League match. Matip arrived at Anfield on a free transfer from Schalke in the 2016 offseason as one of Klopp’s first recruits.

The former Cameroonian international has played 201 matches for Liverpool, winning, among other titles, the Champions League and the Premier League. Barely released by Liverpool, the player is already being courted by several clubs. Two English sides are reportedly ready to offer a new contract to the Cameroonian central defender.

According to our colleagues at Africafoot, Ipswich Town and Crystal Palace have both made contact with Joël Matip’s entourage. Both English clubs see the 32-year-old player as a good reinforcement due to his experience. Currently, the Cameroonian is in the recovery phase after a long period of injury.
