Kylian Mbappé’s future seems to be rapidly unfolding towards Real Madrid. The French forward is expected to make his move after the Champions League final. Meanwhile, he has just made a new announcement.

Mbappé hasn’t yet disclosed his next club after bidding farewell to PSG last weekend. PSG clinched the French Cup against Olympique Lyonnais, marking the definitive departure of their star, Kylian Mbappé.

Kylian Mbappé and the Milanese dream

The fate of the French star is sealed, with Real Madrid as his destination, though he hasn’t publicly confirmed it yet. It’s likely to happen after Real Madrid’s Champions League final at Wembley on June 2nd. However, during the Globe Soccer Awards gala, Mbappé spoke about Italy.

“Italian football? You never know what can happen. I’ve always said that if I were to go to Italy, it would be to Milan. When I was a child, I was a big fan of Milan, and I still watch their Serie A matches. My whole family are big Milan fans,” he stated. This declaration about his future worried Real Madrid fans, recalling his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid. The photo of him lying on a bed, surrounded by numerous Cristiano Ronaldo posters, remains highly viral and discussed. Real Madrid, on the brink of potentially clinching their fifteenth Champions League, could have a fantastic end to the season. They could lift another “big-eared” trophy and simultaneously announce to the world that one of the best footballers has decided to sign with them.

Kylian Mbappé and PSG, the sour ending

On the other hand, the only news concerning Kylian Mbappé is his flirtation with Milan, a club he’s always followed and supported, as he himself indicated at the Globe Soccer Awards gala on Tuesday night, which honors the big figures of the season. Kylian Mbappé’s future has been settled for some time, as he is set to join Real Madrid. However, relations between him and his soon-to-be former club are very strained, and President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is particularly irritated. According to L’Equipe, after the player announced his intention to leave last February, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi ordered a partial sidelining.

Mbappé remained a starter for big matches but was often substituted or benched by Luis Enrique. The player is convinced that the Spanish coach was forced to act this way for non-sporting reasons, on Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s orders. Moreover, according to the same media outlet, Mbappé didn’t receive his salary for April or a promised bonus in his contract, which was supposed to be paid in February.

In fact, PSG allegedly paid the famous loyalty bonus of 80 million euros to the player in February, hoping that Real Madrid would somehow reimburse it. The Merengues refused, and PSG then tried to reclaim this money by “forgetting” to pay Mbappé’s salary. The total amount of this salary and the February bonus was around 80 million euros, corresponding to the loyalty bonus. Naturally, the Mbappé camp is demanding this money, while PSG argues that the player didn’t fulfill his commitments from last summer. Lawyers from both sides are now embroiled in a legal battle that could drag on.
