John Bosco Nchindo is the first MTN Elite One player officially interviewed by the head coach of the Indomitable Lions, Marc Brys.

Despite not being recognized by Samuel Eto’o’s FECAFOOT, whose final intentions remain unclear, Marc Brys refuses to give up. With one month left before the World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Cape Verde on June 5 in Yaoundé and Angola on June 8 in Luanda, the Belgian coach is intensifying his preparations.

A few days after returning to the country, Brys had expressed his interest in local players, a concept he discussed with the rest of the staff. He has now put this idea into practice. In fact, he had a discussion on Monday, May 6, 2024, with John Bosco Nchindo, who has shone this season in the MTN Elite One. The striker from Yong Sport Academy (YOSA) was all smiles during his meeting with the technical staff of the Cameroon Indomitable Lions. He is thus one of the players who received special attention from the national team staff during the Play-offs Up.

Nchindo, who is the captain of Yong Sports Academy, is undoubtedly the best player of the MTN Elite One this season. He has been the backbone of YOSA’s qualification for the Play-offs Up and has stood out throughout the elimination rounds. John Bosco Nchindo was the top scorer of the Play-offs Up with 6 goals and his season tally is 13 goals.
