“Economics teacher and management expert Chuo Walters commented on the situation regarding Marc Brys, the new coach of the Indomitable Lions.

Primarily known in Belgium, Marc Brys was appointed as the coach of the Cameroonian national team on April 2nd. His appointment sparked controversy. The Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot) denounced the ‘unilateral’ decision made by the government to appoint the Belgian coach to lead the men’s national team, succeeding Rigobert Song.

Indeed, following his appointment to lead Cameroon’s team, a structural conflict arose. The Minister of Sports appointed Brys without consulting Fécafoot. Samuel Eto’o, the federation’s president, declared the appointment invalid and was even rumored to be considering appointing a new staff. Invited to the Grand Debate on CAM 10 Television on Sunday, April 28, 2024, Economics teacher and management expert Chuo Walters weighed in on the Marc Brys situation.

“Marc Brys is the national coach. We don’t care about Fécafoot’s actions. People are making a fuss over nothing. We have already installed Marc Brys on behalf of the State of Cameroon. Everything Samuel Eto’o has done has ended in failure.”
