Upon arriving at the FECAFOOT accompanied by his entire staff appointed by the Minsep, Marc Brys left less than 5 minutes later.
Trench warfare is engulfing Cameroonian football. Summoned on Tuesday morning to the headquarters of FECAFOOT in Tsinga, Marc Brys was denied participation in the meeting with the technical staff appointed by Minister Mouelle Kombi who accompanied him.
Only his assistant, Joachim Mununga, and he were allowed to participate, but Marc Brys insisted that his entire accompanying staff should also be allowed to join, to which FECAFOOT said “NO.” Overwhelmed by the situation, the Belgian coach eventually decided to leave with his entire staff.
Indeed, 5 minutes after their arrival at Tsinga, the headquarters of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Marc Brys, his assistant, and his collaborators appointed by the MINESEP left very quickly without making any statement.
Here’s what happened at FECAFOOT that morning:
1- Marc Brys arrived with his entire staff appointed by the Minsep.
2- His assistants were initially blocked at the gate, then Samuel Eto’o gave permission for them to enter, at Brys’ request and after some “intense exchanges” between Prof. Cyrille Tollo and the president’s protocol chief.
3- Once inside the federation premises, the President allegedly insisted that only Brys and Mununga participate in the meeting, which Brys and Prof. Cyrille Tollo reportedly opposed, and ultimately the meeting did not take place as Brys and his entourage immediately left.
4- Marc Brys was reportedly heavily threatened by the federation president, who “threatened to lay hands on him,” according to internal sources.
