He made this statement on the show Libre Expression on Sunday, April 28, 2024, on Info Tv, a private television station broadcasting from Yaoundé, Cameroon.
According to Cyrille Tollo, technical advisor to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, there is perfect collaboration between the new coach of the Indomitable Lions and the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot).
In the show Libre Expression on Sunday, April 28, 2024, on Info Tv, he asserts that Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), is pursuing a path of appeasement, particularly regarding the appointment of the new coach for the Indomitable Lions.
He states, “Yes, I believe that time sometimes soothes. You may recall that the executive committee of Fecafoot gave the federation president 72 hours to appoint an alternative coach. This was not done.”
“It will be addressed to the federation, and I can promise you that they will pass this list on to the appropriate parties. I cannot imagine Fecafoot taking the heavy responsibility of eliminating Cameroon because they did not send out player call-ups.”
“We see that the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation [Samuel Eto’o] has had the lucidity and wisdom not to do so. So things are calming down,” he adds on the show Libre Expression. He then informs that the Belgian coach is already at work.
“The coach, Marc Brys, is already working. He is on a tour. He will establish his list of players. It will be addressed to the federation, and I can promise you that they will pass this list on to the appropriate parties. I cannot imagine Fecafoot taking the heavy responsibility of eliminating Cameroon because they did not send out player call-ups. Even within Fecafoot, there may be differences, but national interest must prevail,” he continued.
