The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are calmly continuing their preparation for the 3rd matchday of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Qualifications for the 2026 World Cup are already heating up in Africa. With just over two years to go until the start of the competition, African teams have already begun the race for qualifying spots, an edition that holds special significance for them.
Cameroon needs to turn things around against Cape Verde and Angola to stay in contention. However, internal turbulence complicates matters due to the conflict between the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) and the Ministry of Sports regarding the coaching staff of head coach Marc Brys.
Nonetheless, the technical staff is fine-tuning the final preparations before the showdown with Cape Verde. In 7 official encounters since May 31, 2008, the Indomitable Lions have overcome the Blue Sharks 3 times, with two defeats and two draws.
Marc Brys’ squad slightly holds the numerical advantage, but Cape Verde’s recent performances in the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire are leveling the playing field for this 8th clash between the two teams.
