This is one of the lessons Abdouraman Hamadou Babba draws from the correspondence FIFA sent to FECEFOOT in response to its letter.

According to the sports official, FIFA suggests that the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) was wrong to relinquish an important prerogative of its Executive Committee through an agreement with the MINSEP.

“FIFA believes that FECAFOOT was wrong to surrender, through this agreement, the exclusive prerogative of its Executive Committee to appoint members of the national football team’s support structures in Cameroon,” responded Abdouraman Hamadou Babba.

However, the president of Etoile Filante de Garoua notes that in its response, “legally, FIFA was not able to decide and side with FECAFOOT, whose complaint concerned the denunciation of undue interference by MINSEP in its internal affairs.”

The appointment of the technical staff for Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has plunged Cameroonian football into a new crisis. These appointments were contested by president Samuel Eto’o Fils and the Executive Committee of FECAFOOT.
