While several sports pages report that the presidency of the Republic has asked Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, to work with the latest staff appointed by FECAFOOT, it is evident that this is fake news.
“Breaking news: Marc Brys would have unilaterally decided to modify the consensual staff of May 30th. The sidelining of this evidently instrumentalized coach is necessary!”, David Eboutou indicated yesterday.
The academic and whistleblower echoed, in the same vein as several sports pages in Cameroon. From a well-informed source, no note has come from the presidency of the Republic instructing the Minister of Sports to let the FECAFOOT staff work.
“Despite the falsehoods spread on the web, only the staff appointed by the Minister of Sports and supervised by Didier Banlock, who had access to the players on the fourth floor and the elevators,” indicates Le Courrier du Cameroun. The newspaper confirms subsequently that the coach-selector Marc Brys left the Hilton hotel around 10:50 p.m. for an unknown destination. He returned there to spend the night. General Coordinator of the National Teams appointed by Samuel Eto’o.
“As a result, it is the presence of Brenda Biya on the premises (Hilton Hotel) that is the cause of the deployment of elements of the Presidential Security Directorate (DSP) throughout the building,” adds Le Courrier du Cameroun.
It is worth noting that since Sunday evening, Benoît Angbwa (General Coordinator of the National Teams appointed by Samuel Eto’o), Pensy (Deputy Coordinator), and Thierry Ndoh (press team) have left the Hilton Hotel.
Also, it should be noted that Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and David Pagou, the two “assistant coaches” of the Indomitable Lions re-appointed by Samuel Eto’o, were not seen at the Hilton hotel last night to enter the training camp.
