For Professor Jean Bahebeck, Samuel Eto’o, president of FACFOOT, possesses the necessary skills to lead both CAF and FIFA.

Samuel Eto’o doesn’t lose his ambition! Despite having an exceptional track record as a player, the former FC Barcelona and Inter Milan star remains ambitious at the helm of the Cameroonian Football Federation. Elevated to the presidency of FECAFOOT in December 2021, the former striking ace of the Indomitable Lions takes care not to display any ambition other than football-related.

Invited to provide some advice to Samuel Eto’o during an interview with journalist Romaric Tenda, Cameroonian university physician Jean Bahebeck commented on the future of the current president of FECAFOOT.

“At least two pieces of advice. The first one is that you need to undergo training on selecting advisors. When you have reached a leadership level like yours, the level of your leadership is national at least, and even international because you’re not meant to stop there. You should become a leader of CAF and then FIFA. That’s how I see it. I don’t see you just sticking to FECAFOOT.

The second thing is, you need to undergo your own personal training because a leader has to decide after receiving proposals from advisors and technicians. And to decide, you need to have a certain level of education. I would tell him that his excellence on the field doesn’t mean it’s applicable everywhere. I hear stories about you and women.

I will teach you how to handle women. Why do you have such stories? An African has stories with women but we must see that when you have women there, the formal ones and the informal ones, there it’s dictatorship but a positive dictatorship. You govern them. You give something to a woman, it ends between you, you take it back. Does an African do that? When you give something to a woman, you don’t forget regardless of the outcome.”
