According to several journalists and analysts in our circle, there seems to be a renaissance of the Indomitable Lions.
“Despite multiple obstacles, the Indomitable Lions have managed to preserve what’s essential: the draw that allows them to maintain leadership in Group D. A great Cameroonian team is emerging, and there’s no doubt we will be present at the 2026 World Cup, perhaps even with an African Champions title in hand!” proclaims Hamadou Babba Abdouraman.
Journalist Jean-Claude Mbede applauds the bravery of the Indomitable Lions in a challenging context. “Well done, Lions. 4/6 points. Grit and courage. We’ve been thrilled! Thank you, I haven’t felt this way since 2017. Now let’s return to restore order and establish authority, willingly or forcefully!”
Similarly, journalist Guibai Gatama remarks, “4 points in two matches. Let’s now allow them to work in optimal conditions. There’s hope and potential in this Indomitable Lions team,” comments the former member of the executive committee of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot).
The team is morally good, and the coach is well in place. “The excitement from the changes and the atmosphere has passed; we’ve fallen back into our old habits, and our true levels have emerged. The façade has crumbled…” laments Gaelle Moudio Ndedi, a journalist from CRTV.
This sentiment is not shared by Patrick Duprix Anicet Mani, a member of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (Rdpc). “The team is morally good, and the coach is well in place. The rule has been upheld once again: the Lions still haven’t defeated the Angolans at home. We await them in Yaoundé to finish the job. Bravo to Marc Brys’s young lions!” he comments.
“Some were expecting a setback from the Lions tonight to prove us wrong about seeing a sort of revival in this national selection under Marc Brys. Some had kept our posts in screenshots to throw back at us when we asserted that this team, without the overly influential federation president, would fare better.
To them, we hold no grudge. They cannot anticipate what we can perceive. Indeed, they are ‘fanatical FOOLS’ who resort to insults when you try to express an opinion on a subject you claim to understand better than them,” explains Christel Léger Tientcheu. The results are starting to show. And now you know why it’s only happening now.
“And the hallmark of a FOOL is that they won’t change. They’ll persist in their stupidity. They won’t understand that the national selection doesn’t belong to anyone, even if they’re the president of the Cameroonian football governing body.
The Indomitable Lions remain our sole pride, and leaving them in inexperienced hands would be playing with fire. Something had to be done. And it was done. The results are starting to show. And now you know why it’s only happening now. This mindset observed during this training camp and the environment around the team must be maintained. Qualifying for the next World Cup would be a given,” concludes the journalist from 45fois2.
