At the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, there is rejoicing over the renewed clarity and wisdom prevailing at the Cameroonian Football Federation following the appointment of Marc Brys.

On the set of the “Libre Expression” program on Info Tv, Cyrille Tollo, the second technical advisor to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, is pleased that Samuel Eto’o Fils did not follow the motion of the Executive Committee inviting him to appoint another coach. The MINSEP agent is delighted by this current atmosphere of appeasement.

“I think time sometimes brings calm. You remember that the executive committee of the FECAFOOT gave the federation president 72 hours to appoint an alternative coach. That was not done. (…) We note that the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Samuel Eto’o, Editor’s note) had the clarity and wisdom not to do so. So things are calming down,” said Cyrille Tollo. Marc Brys’ list will be sent to FECAFOOT.

Asked about the risk that FECAFOOT might, at the appropriate time, compile a list of called-up players simultaneously with Marc Brys, Cyrille Tollo points out that the Belgian technician is currently “working,” “on a tour.”

“He will establish his list of players. It will be sent to the federation, and I can promise you that they will forward this list to the appropriate authorities (…) I don’t see FECAFOOT taking the heavy responsibility of getting Cameroon eliminated because they didn’t send out player call-ups. Even at FECAFOOT, there can be disagreements, but national interest must prevail,” said the second technical advisor to MINSEP, Cyrille Tollo.

It should be recalled that when the Belgian technician Marc Brys set foot in Cameroon to sign his contract, he was welcomed at Yaoundé Nsimalen by the second technical advisor, Cyrille Tollo.
