Today, an exceptional encounter will take place between Samuel Eto’o, president of the Fecafoot, and Emmanuel Macron, president of France.

However, it’s not within the scope of a political or diplomatic meeting, but rather on the football field, all for a humanitarian cause. Samuel Eto’o will face Emmanuel Macron today in a charity match. The president of Fecafoot is currently in France for humanitarian purposes, joining Emmanuel, the president of France, in a charity match benefiting the “Pièces Jaunes” (Yellow Coins).

The snapshots of Emmanuel Macron and Samuel Eto’o in the locker rooms just minutes before the charity match in France testify to the friendship between the two men.

According to the French press, the charity match benefiting the Pièces Jaunes is an initiative led by Brigitte Macron aimed at improving the hospitalization conditions for children and adolescents.

On the field, the president will play this match with the Variétés Club de France alongside several champions of the 1998 World Cup, including Laurent Blanc, Marcel Desailly, and Robert Pirès. The current coach of the French national team and godfather of the “Pièces Jaunes,” Didier Deschamps, will also start the game. Belgian Eden Hazard, Ivorian Didier Drogba, Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o, Dutch Johan Neeskens, and German Jens Lehmann are also announced. The match will be refereed by international whistle Stéphanie Frappart.

The First Lady, Brigitte Macron, president of the Foundation of Hospitals, will also be present. Emmanuel Macron and the stars of Variétés – chaired by deputy (Renaissance) Karl Olive – will take on a selection of healthcare professionals. The head of state had already played a match with Variétés on October 14, 2021, in Poissy (Yvelines).
