The president of SYNAFOC, Geremi Njitap, has been summoned before the jurisdiction of the Cameroonian Football Federation.

Achille Logmo, the president of the Ethics Commission of FECAFOOT, wants to hear from Geremi Njitap and his Secretary General, Daniel Blaise Ngos.

This summons follows what is referred to as the “Bouaké incident” during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). The security agent of the President of FECAFOOT had asked the former international and captain of the Lions to leave the locker rooms after the victory against Gambia. However, Njitap headed towards the locker rooms to congratulate the national team, provoking the anger of Samuel Eto’o who allegedly took offense at this intrusion.

This summons to the Ethics Commission seems to reveal a rivalry between Samuel Eto’o and Geremi Njitap.

Indeed, Cameroonian football is currently at the heart of an intense power struggle, pitting the two men against each other for the role of president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT). Eto’o, seeking to retain his position, faces a major challenge from Njitap, who emerges as a serious contender. Moreover, the former Lions’ number 8 is suspected of being able to take the lead in the upcoming normalization process by persisting in his ambitions. It appears that Samuel Eto’o is therefore seeking to eliminate any potential competitor.
