Former coach of the Indomitable Lions, Claude Leroy, believes Samuel Eto’o has proudly represented Cameroon. In Cameroon, Samuel Eto’o leaves no one indifferent.
The man who was one of the best forwards in the world in the 2000s, elected on December 12, 2021, for a four-year term as president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT), has been under scrutiny for several weeks. Since succeeding Seidou Mbombo Njoya at the helm of FECAFOOT, the former Lions Indomptables striker, from FC Barcelona and Inter Milan, has not hesitated to make enemies. His first twenty-six months of presidency have been marked by controversies and scandals. But the president of FECAFOOT can count on Claude Leroy.
“The president of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o, is Africa’s greatest footballer. Thanks to him, Cameroonian football has the chance to have visibility. This young man was born to help his country in every way. Samuel doesn’t like falsehood. He never holds a grudge against anyone. He is a hard worker, a product of excellence. I don’t understand why some Cameroonians who don’t love football come to stifle this noble discipline?
Others have seen that Samuel is not accessible for things that drag Cameroon down and have found it better to attack him at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) and take a lot of money from him through baseless lawsuits. I would tell him to do what he has to do and ignore the low blows from these petty people. Cameroonians have finally understood that their idol has the conviction to work because 48 million is not 11 million. Footballers should also not accept playing without being paid. Samuel is there for them!”
