Fourteen years ago, Samuel Eto’o became the first player in football history to win a treble with two different clubs. Eto’o left Barcelona after winning a historic treble and moved to Inter Milan. The Cameroonian striker and the Inter Milan team repeated this feat by collecting three trophies, including a Champions League, in one season.
For 14 years, Samuel Eto’o has remained the only player to possess this prestigious record, and Inter Milan is the last club to have conquered the Champions League.
“The greatest African player to have won the Champions League? It’s a difficult question because there have been great icons. But I would say Samuel Eto’o. He won the Champions League with two different clubs. For me, he was the best. I must emphasize that he was my idol when I played football,” Gaëlle Enganamouit revealed.
