What’s really going on with Fabrice Ondoa at Nîmes Olympique?

Even after the departure of Frédéric Bompard, sacked for lack of results, Cameroonian goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa still hasn’t seen any playing time.

Nîmes Olympique will host Red Star tonight without Cameroonian goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa. For this crucial match, the coach has only selected one goalkeeper. Even after the dismissal of Frédéric Bompard for underperformance, the Cameroonian goalkeeper and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations champion still hasn’t had any playing time.

As Nîmes Olympique faces Red Star FC tonight in the 31st round of the National Championship (French third division), the new coach has followed the same path as his predecessor, preferring an outfield player over Fabrice Ondoa.

He has ignored the Cameroonian goalkeeper and has announced the squad for tonight’s match against Red Star with only one goalkeeper, the starter. Ondoa isn’t even on the bench. Since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, he hasn’t played a single match, and the likelihood of him playing this season is very slim. Hopefully, the end of this season will come soon so he can bounce back elsewhere.
