The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) officially announced that it appeared on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, before the Disciplinary Jury of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This hearing is part of the procedure opened following the events that marked the final of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025, won by Senegal.
According to the statement released by the Senegalese federal body, this summons follows reports established by the match officials, as well as the reservations expressed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) after the match. These elements led CAF to open a disciplinary investigation to shed light on the reported incidents and to hear all parties involved.

During this appearance, the FSF was represented by its Secretary General, who defended the official position of the Federation. He was legally assisted by Master Seydou Diagne, a lawyer tasked with defending the interests of Senegalese football in this matter. The Senegalese delegation aimed to present a detailed account of the events, relying on the applicable regulations and the precise sequence of events that occurred during the final.
Additionally, the national coach of the Lions of Teranga, Pape Bouna Thiaw, was also heard by the Disciplinary Jury. The Senegalese coach provided insights into the management of the match and the decisions made by the technical staff in a particularly tense context. Two key players from the squad, Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye, were also heard by the disciplinary body. The two internationals presented their version of events and explained their involvement during the controversial moments.
At the end of the discussions and various hearings, the Disciplinary Jury of the CAF decided to put the matter under deliberation. According to the timeline set by the Jury President, the final decision should be communicated to the concerned parties within forty-eight (48) hours.
In its statement, the Senegalese Football Federation sought to reassure the public, indicating that it would transparently inform supporters and stakeholders of national football about the progress of the procedure and the decision that will be made by CAF.
