Scandal after Morocco–Senegal: a senior CAF official dismissed

The crisis that erupted during the final of the last Africa Cup of Nations, contested between Morocco and Senegal, continues to have repercussions at the top of African football. It has notably led to the downfall of a high-ranking official from the African Football Confederation.

CAF removes president from its judicial bodies

According to information from the Moroccan site Al Botola, CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba has decided to relieve Djiboutian Yacin Osman Robleh of his duties as president of the judicial bodies. He held this strategic position for six years.

Still according to the same source, this decision follows the intense controversy sparked by certain measures taken by the continental body after the incidents that marred the final held in Morocco.

The CAF executive committee has appointed Togolese Cédric Adjai, the current director of legal affairs, as interim president.

This internal reshuffle has also delayed the publication of several disciplinary decisions regarding matches in African competitions, particularly the case of the match between Al Ahly and AS FAR Rabat in the CAF Champions League.
