A regular guest on Café des Sports on Radio France Internationale, Rémy Ngono spoke out this Friday, January 13, about the concerning climate within the African Football Confederation (CAF). The Cameroonian commentator believes the organization is going through a period of deep dysfunction.
“He practically decides nothing”

According to him, Véron Mosengo, the current secretary general, should no longer be in office. He claims there are several sensitive cases and legal proceedings against him that, according to his statements, are being suppressed.
Rémy Ngono also criticized the governance of CAF president Patrice Motsepe. He believes that Motsepe’s term makes some observers long for the era of Issa Hayatou. In his view, the current leader is too dependent on Gianni Infantino and lacks real decision-making power, giving the impression of being sidelined.
The commentator goes further, stating that Motsepe was not elected independently but was supported and imposed by Infantino. He believes this situation indirectly favors the interests of FIFA and UEFA at the expense of African football.
